If you are still having problems, while it sucks to do so, you need to take your time and follow the posted guides for getting the game to work. Steam players who have problems and steam players that have tried the GoG version, came back, and continue to ask for help.įollow the install prompt directions. There are plenty of complaints on both sides. I see no reason why the GoG version would be any better than the Steam version and the steam posts I've read support that. Fortunately, the crashes aren't that frequent. Most of those crashes/freezes usually have to do with go through doors. The same crashes I see on steam are the same crashes I've experienced on the non steam version. I also own the stand alone non steam PC version of fallout 3 goty. I imagine that most people who have problems either skip, close or decline that prompt. If you follow those directions, it'll work. When you first go to install the game, there will be a gfwl prompt. The steam version works well enough for me. What works for one may not work for another due to any number of variables. First, Bethesda games tend to be buggy as hell.
